What to Bring to Your Maternity Session

Maternity photos are some of my favorites- we get to slow down a little, breathe in the air of anticipation, and capture this sweet moment before your whole life changes. Pregnancy pictures are also a time to get creative and document the love and anticipation between you and your partner. Sometimes people ask me if they even really need them, and my answer is always YES! This is your legacy! Its those days leading up to meeting your child for the first time and a memory you will always have to look back on and share. Personally, my children love to look back at photos from before they were born and when they were babies. I have them in albums on the coffee table, and we pull them out and share stories together.
If you are on the fence, don’t think about it, just do it!
What To Bring

Ultrasound photos

Special items- heirlooms, blankets, baby booties…anything that holds a special significance to you or your family. Less is more, but if you have something that is truly a treasured item, definitely bring it.

Change of clothing- Toward the end of the session, many moms like to do semi-nude or bare belly photos (or just change into something more comfortable). Plan to bring a super fun or sexy robe, nude underwear, or anything else you were hoping to wear. Need help planning? I got your back, mama! Let’s chat about your clothing options!

Comfortable shoes- Bring the nice shoes you planned to ware and then consider a pair of flip flops or flats to wear between shots. If we have to walk to another part of the location we are at, you can easily slip something on and off to save your feet. Bonus! If your dress is long, it may even hide your feet so you can go barefoot!

Rings- If you have slipped your wedding bands off (that darn swelling!), make sure to bring them!
