If you haven’t heard it before, I’m here to say it again- there is a group for everything. I used to find myself in tons of groups…Down syndrome groups, IVF groups, adoption groups, mom groups…you name it, I was probably in one. I found support in those forums, I got questions answered and I learned.
I wasn’t much into podcasts until recently, if I am being honest. But with Clubhouse and other various listening apps, I have started to get more into them. I listen while I edit or do housework.
Ask Lisa: I love this parenting podcast. I would say this is more for parents of older kids, but for me we are already beginning to prepare for these topics with our kiddos. It helps to know i am not alone and it helps me to think about these harder topics as my kids grow.
The Longest Shortest Time: This podcast is no longer active but it’s a great one for parents who are now expecting their first child. She covered a variety of topics and i appreciate her openness.
The Mom Hour: mom hacks and tips- ‘nuff said.
Motherhood Sessions: I really like this one. After having a baby, we kind of shift and can sometimes feel lost. I know after my third, I felt like the woman I used to be was completely gone and I didn’t know how to get her back or if i was even doing this whole thing right. This podcasts talks about that shift into motherhood.
Parenting for the Future: Raising a 21st century child is so different. This podcast covers raising children for the very real and specific challenges they will face.
We Are Family: This podcast covers diversity in families from from LGBTQ parenting and adoption to IVF and blended families.
What Fresh Hell: You know I had to have a funny one in there. These ladies laugh in the face of motherhood and talk about all the hardships in a way that gives me the laugh I need to push through on those hard days.
