Newborn Photos in Your Home
Ashley Newman Photography
Coming into your space is one of my very favorite things to do! It brings personality to your photos that you just cannot get anywhere else. From documenting the nursery you spent hours planning, to telling the intimate story of bringing your new baby home- it’s just so personal.
If you have decided that lifestyle photos are what you want to document your newborn, then you are going to want to check out this list! I always send my clients details on how to prepare, but if you are looking for the cliff notes version, read ahead!
Preparing Your Home for Newborn Pictures
-
Clear out these spaces: living room, master bedroom, nursery. No need to do a deep clean, you did just have a baby, but tidy up. Take extra things off the bedside tables, and just in general clear off surfaces.
-
Open all the blinds- go ahead, let that light in!
-
Turn off all artificial lighting. Lamps and overhead lights can interfere with the natural light being used from the windows.
-
Plan to have your house warm. If it’s hot outside, just turn your AC off (sorry!!). If it’s cold outside, kick that heat up!
-
Have any special heirlooms or items you want photographed ready or set aside.
In-home baby photos are so raw and special. Take a peek at this sweet session, or send me a message if you have any questions on how to prepare!
