COVID Safety and Masks At Family Sessions
Ashley Newman Photography
The world changed in 2020 and it seems to never fail that each time I start a session with a client, they ask the same question- “Do we all need to be wearing masks?”
Rest assured that when I shoot your family, I will be wearing a mask. At least for the time being. But, as a family that is being photographed, you do not need to worry about bringing one to your session. Some may feel more comfortable having one on between shooting and that is just fine. But it would be quite difficult to capture your family if you all had masks on 😉
COVID Precautions During Your Session
-
95% of my sessions take place outside (unless a studio is rented or an AirBnB secured specifically for your session). The open air and space will help us to spread out a little. I may jump in quickly to adjust or fi something, grab a lose up shot or try to get a baby to smile, but I always jump right back out! Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you would rather have me shoot from a further distance or get our a longer lens. I got you!
-
Masks- I will wear a mask at all times. There is no need to suggest that I shouldn’t— I am sure you have been safe, and I trust you BUT I see many families in a week and I would never want to put any family at risk. My schedule fills up so quickly, and it only takes one exposure to turn my entire schedule upside down. Not to mention i would feel horrible if I exposed someone unknowingly. When it comes to masks, I will always have one 😉
-
Shooting at a distance- I will work hard to keep my distance and exercise using good personal space. I still may hop in to fix something that is askew or adjust you, but like I pointed out before, I won’t be in your space too much 😉 Promise!
-
Sanitizing- I will have hand sanitizer available and any props (like small chairs or quilts) will have been cleaned and sanitized between clients.
-
Health Checks + Reschedules- I will be monitoring my health and my family’s health very closely. If anything of concern pops up, you will be notified immediately. I want my clients to know that I take this very seriously, as I have a special needs child who is considered high-risk. Reschedules will be offered at no additional cost and I work had to be flexible for you.
At the end of the day, your memories are important. I want your health to be considered as well. We will all get through this together, and come out stronger in the end!
