Houston Family Photographer
As the summer heat begins to come to an end, the window for water sessions is closing. Thankfully we live somewhere where the cold won’t keep us out of the water for too long.
These sessions always bring me so much joy because they have a sense of exploration and adventure to them. It’s the perfect location if you are worried about what you will do, how you will keep your kids entertained or how you will engage during your photos.
Plus, what’s not to love about getting your feet wet and watching your children play in the creek around you?
If you are considering a creek session, here are a few things to think about as you start the planning process.
-
Shoes
Normally, I say not to forget about your shoes and how well they can complete an outfit, but in this case it’s likely you will be kicking them off to go free in the water. Make sure you wear some that are easy to slip off and on. -
Towels
Bring one or two small hand towels just in case we bring a little too much mud back with us! -
Bug Spray
This is a must in Houston. Just do it. -
Clothing
Wearing light, flowy clothing that you don’t mind getting a little wet or dirty is best. If you are in doubt about what to wear, let’s talk! (Check out this stunning family! They rocked it!) -
Adventure
Be prepared to walk a little and pay attention to nature. Some of these locations are a little hidden or require a short walk to get to. We are going into spaces that wild animals and bugs are naturally found. Be mindful of where you are stepping and thoughtful about the environment.
As fall tries to start creeping in, we are in the last season of water sessions before spring. This location is one of many that I offer to my clients due to it’s private nature and unique background. It’s an easy spot to fall in love with!
