You’re booked and you are ready for family pictures! Having your pictures taken shouldn’t be so stressful, so here are my favorite tips to help you prepare. Follow this quick guide to ace your next session and create authentic moments you will treasure for a lifetime!

bring a treasured item from home

• a family heirloom or treasured item (think a quilt or special trinket)

• your child’s favorite toy

• a personalized gift

• family pet

• signature home items that represents your unique family

play music that represents your family

Share your favorite song, silly songs, or songs your children like to sing.
Does your family have a theme song or a song that you play often? Let’s dance, sing and laugh!

keep your hands busy

Keep moving and enjoy the process with your children. Activities you enjoy doing with one another will help tell an authentic story and capture your true personalities.

• hold hands and go for a walk

• give kisses

• brush your children’s hair behind their ear and take in their features

• play and dance (ring around the rosey is an easy one!)

• ask questions (silly or sweet! What is your favorite dessert? Who farted?!)

Keep your wardrobe simple. Avoid logos and lots of busy patterns but embrace textures and layers.
Choose a color scheme for your family but stay away from matching.
