Fall Family Photographer

September may feel like the wrong time to start talking about fall family photos, but don’t let the Houston heat fool you- it’s time! Timing your fall family photos can feel tricky, but I am here to help you!
With over 10 years of experience under my belt, I can tell you one thing is for certain: waiting until the fall to book your fall photos will leave you with less options and most likely frustrated.
If you have been eyeing a specific artist, book them now.
If you are been wanting to work with a photographer you admire, get on their calendar now.
I say this every year, but ultimately I am still turning clients away and it absolutely breaks my heart. I hate not having space for someone and I hate not being able to work with amazing humans because my calendar is fully booked.
Why book fall photos early?
Booking early gives you time to prepare. You can order outfits, try them on and plan them out with your photographer’s help. Listen, at least once, we have experienced the chaos of trying to throw outfits together last minute…you can make it work but it’s not worth the stress. Giving yourself the space to truly plan out a vision is well worth it.
Fall is so busy for all families. Between the holidays fast approaching, family gatherings, school functions/parties, and everything in between, flexibility is harder to achieve. Booking early allows you to plan your own life and your photographer to plan theirs.
Houston weather can be unpredictable– especially in the fall. We could have the most glorious week followed by a complete washed out weekend. When I plan my fall calendar, I put a lot of thought into being able to provide flexible booking for my clients. Being overbooked or having too many options makes it really hard when a rainy cold front takes away prime dates. Booking ahead allows your photographer to make plans and not over schedule anyone.
Budgeting is easier when you plan ahead. I absolutely respect that everyone has a budget- in fact, I am never hurt when a client doesn’t always choose me to photograph their family. I just want you to document your life. That is what it’s all about! BUT if you are planning ahead for a photographer you really want, or planning out your monthly budget, it’s a lot easier to save up, or plan out payments.
I only require a $200 deposit to hold your date, and I always welcome payment plans. When you plan ahead, you can pay ahead too!
Bonus tip: joining the mailing list of your favorite photographer is always a great way to snag the best spots and deals!
Don’t hesitate! Take a look at my calendar and snag your date today!
The take away here: plan ahead and don’t wait to book your fall family photoshoot!
