First of all, how stunning is this mama!! We got the best sunset for our session too, so I’m basically in love!
You are expecting! It’s incredible and scary and raw and exciting and wonderful all wrapped up in one. Building a family can be a hard journey— however you got here, it’s an incredible blessing and I am so excited to share it with you! When I was pregnant, I had so many questions and fears. It was hard to even wrap my mind around planning maternity photos. Hopefully, I can help ease your mind and answer your burning questions about maternity photography.
When should I schedule my maternity session?
This is personal preference, but I always recommend scheduling when you feel comfortable. So that could be different for every family. For some that means scheduling the moment you find out. For others, it’s waiting until the 12 week mark or even the anatomy scan. Whatever you decide, plan ahead as much as you can and schedule when you feel comfortable.
When is the best time for maternity photos?
I recommend around 30 weeks. This is when you have a good bump going but aren’t too uncomfortable. Plus you will get your pictures back in time to still enjoy them before baby comes.
What if I am on bedrest?
Oh man! Best rest stinks- I was on bedrest for 2 of my pregnancies and let me tell you, it was not a vacation! First, let’s get you cleared by your doctor. You may be allowed to have brief periods of time standing. Second, let’s find you a location that works. We won’t want you to be hiking all over or having to walking through anything hazardous. Last, consider an indoor session. These are more intimate, and will allow you to be inside (out of the crazy Texas heat). I love indoor maternity sessions so much!
So long as you are cleared by your doctor, you still have options even with bedrest looming.
What do I wear?
I have an awesome list of my favorite shops for mamas to check out!

-
Amazon $ An inexpensive way to go! Just search “maternity gowns” and make sure to read the reviews! I have had a lot of great luck with Amazon!
Can I wear more than one outfit?
Absolutely! In fact, most sessions will have enough time for 2 outfits total. I love to have something formal and then something more casual (like a bralette and a flowing kimono!).
