Our Top 6 Parks
Ashley Newman Photography
One of the reasons we moved back to The Woodlands was because of all the nature. As a photographer, I am constantly looking for new locations. Between our rapidly growing area, new buildings going up and fields being paved over, it’s hard not to feel surrounded by concrete. We work hard to take our children to local parks, walk on nature trails and just connection with our area. Check out our list of favorite spots locally!

Shadow Bend Park
This park had a splash pad, pool, and a wonderful running loop. I love their open field for soccer (or just letting the kids run loose) and the covered pavilion for when it gets hot. Walk across Lake Woodlands to go feed the ducks or enjoy more trails! -
Creekwood Park & Pool
This massive park has tons of trails, events galore, and a wonderful pool. It also features a skatepark and a nice big public restroom. This is definitely a favorite for my family. -
Cattail Park
We used to take our dogs here when they were much younger. This park has an awesome dog park and wonderful greenspace! -
Tamarac Park
Go fishing, skate or just enjoy nature here! I like this little hidden gem of a park for sure! -
Summer Storm Park
I love the dino fossils feature this park has and so do my kiddos! -
George Mitchell Preserve
A favorite nature trail- get out and bird watch or just enjoy some peace walking these trails. Clearly defined paths and some access near Rob Fleming Park, for restrooms if needed.
