This picture-perfect family knocked it out of the park! How did they make it happen?
Let’s take a look at their session to see all the ways they styled their family and made it come together with ease.
Mama focused on herself first.
She had already admitted she wasn’t quite feeling like herself before our session. She did just have a baby recently, and I think we can all relate to that feeling. So she found a dress that felt good and build everything off of that.
Since her dress was a single color, it was easier to build off of.
Next, she found a good neutral. Her oldest is wearing a stunning dress from Joyfolie in a cream color. Creams go with anything and I am dead over this dress- I want one in my size!
The black dress is pattered, but has green and cream- so it brought all the colors together.
For the boys- I feel like once you have the girls down, the rest comes so naturally! Mama grabbed some pops of color, paired with neutrals to pull it all together. For her husband, the khakis tie in his outfit and with her son, it’s all pulled in perfectly to create a color palette that coordinates.
No-one is matching in the photos but they all go together at the same time. She has a few colors throughout, but they compliment one another. If you ask me, she nailed it!
-
Start with mom first.
-
Pick 2-3 colors to pair with it. Try laying everything out to see if they coordinate.
-
Avoid too many patterns. Some pattens are ok, but don’t over do it.
-
Do not wear anything with a large or colorful logo.
-
Don’t forget shoes! They complete an outfit and tie it all together.
-
Coordinate but don’t match.
-
Stay away from neon colors- it’s a bit bold and distracting.
-
Make sure all clothing you selected fits properly
-
Details- think about layering textures and adding accessories like a hat or scarf.
-
Makeup- if you normally wear makeup or want to for photos, remember to go a little darker than usual.
