The Woodlands Texas
I just love our great state and I love exploring it with families. Whether its a travel session or finding a new location nearby, I am always ready to photograph your beautiful family outside.
I have been asked in the past why I do not have a studio. It’s a complicated answer because I have considered getting one and even almost had one built a few years back. But every time I move that direction, I feel a stirring in my soul that says, “Wait”…
So I hold on to that thought but embrace where I’ve been which is with my feet firmly planted in the dirt, wild seeds stuck to my pant legs and trees all around. A natural light photographer. It’s where I feel grounded and where my families shine the best. And while I could spend hours explaining my love of nature, instead I want to talk about why you should book your next family session outside.
So why is outdoor photography great and amazing and the bestest?!

This land is your land, this land is my land! Do you remember that song? I can’t remember anything passed that…But in all seriousness…capturing your family in your native area with landmarks that signify your location and things that are paramount to where you life- priceless. When we lived in Alabama, it was super important to me to document what that looked like. It was different than anywhere I had lived before and I wanted to make sure to capture key features of the landscape. I treasure those memories like nothing else.

Nature is so healing. Seriously. It feels good to just kick your shoes off and let go We can play some music, drink some beer and just enjoy being together. This kind of vibe is the stuff of dreams. This is what real family picture are made of.

It’s all about embracing what will be. Truly. I love nature because it can be unpredictable. It can be crazy at times (especially in Houston) but it’s so beautiful and it makes the perfect, most simple background ever. I want to focus on you and your family- your connections. Sure, it’s awesome to see where you are. But the real show stopper is YOU.

And finally! Variety! Listen…nature is naturally going to vary. It looks different no matter where you are. It is not the same- your pictures will always be different no matter what. No posed studio. No paper backdrop that everyone else has. Just you and your beautiful family. Period.
