Woodlands Family Photographer
You have booked your photos, gathered your family, planned your outfits…now what?
Sometimes the location isn’t as important as everything I just listed, that’s true, but it can be the perfect element that completes your pictures perfectly.
After you book your session with me, I include tips on how to prepare, what to expect and all the locations I have access to.
If you are trying to find a spot that is perfect for your family photos, here are a few tips to help you decide!
Picking A Location For Family Photos
Choosing a meaningful place
Do you have a park you always go to, is there a location that feels like “home” or is the epitome of our city? Your location should have personal meaning. It adds depth to your pictures and enhances the memories already created there.
Considering the surroundings
If you aren’t choosing from one of Ashley’s locations, there are some things to consider. Are there power lines everywhere? Lots of people walking around? Think about what might end up in the background of your pictures and don’t hesitate to ask for input.
Choose somewhere quiet
Don’t let the location take over
Sometimes a simple field is really all you need. If your chosen location is too busy, it could take away from the focal point- your family!
Clear if with your photographer
Make sure your photographer is at least familiar with the location, that it’s not out of their milage/range, and that no permits are required to shoot where you have chosen. Check out this family session- they picked the University of Alabama because of their love for and connection to the school. So fun and meaningful!
Check out this extended family session! Not only is it full of personality but the location is beautiful and just makes this family look incredible.
